Physician-owned. Physician-run.
Academic Emergency Medicine Partners (AEMP) is an independent, physician-led academic group covering emergency departments across Washington, DC and the surrounding region.
Faculty in the news
AEMP carries a rich history in academic emergency medicine. Its physicians teach residents and students, run clinical research, and practice named subspecialties spanning critical care, toxicology, disaster medicine, and bedside ultrasound.
For health systems
Coverage that doesn't depend on a national roster. Physicians who've led departments in the DMV run scheduling, staffing, and quality work here, and they answer to your operations directly.

A group small enough that your voice actually reaches the people deciding. Academic depth and a teaching mission are part of the job here, not a footnote.

“We started AEMP so the physicians doing the work are the ones deciding how it gets done.”

Physicians here teach residents and students, run clinical research, and hold named subspecialty work inside the department, not as a credential earned somewhere else. That work runs alongside the clinical schedule, not squeezed into the margins around it, which is the actual difference between a staffing vendor and an academic group.
Eight abstracts from the department were accepted to the ACEP Research Forum this October, one of them selected for a plenary session.
