Rita Manfredi
Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine
Dr. Manfredi's path to medicine began as a U.S. Navy Flight Surgeon flying with a Marine Corps tactical squadron, and she kept flying on the New England Life Flight helicopter during residency. Board certified in hospice and palliative medicine, she works to bring palliative-medicine principles into emergency department care. She chaired ACEP's Wellbeing Committee nationally and edited its guide to wellbeing in emergency medicine, and in 2021 she received ACEP's Pamela Benson Trailblazer Award for lifetime contributions to the specialty.
